We got attacked by somebody who thought it would be cool to run some precompiled exploit scripts on our old version of the forum software. As a result of this childish prank with a skill level of 1, everything got trashed. Basically they ran an internet bot that crawled around looking for forums and then they ran some programs against us. We didn't get hacked, we just targeted by the equivalent of a house-egging with forums renamed and stupid shit written on the board. After they found us, we should have shut it down but Gus was on vacation and I told him to let it set until he got back, figuring that it was just a one off hit. Unfortunately they came back and wiped out our threads save for a few polls (apparently polls weren't covered under the script that he or she ran to empty our database).
I apologize for not making backups. Everything's gone, folks. But it isn't so bad, considering that if we'd never had the board at all, we never would have had such fun to start with. But the board is back, so let's get cracking at getting it snapping again. We just need PMG to come back and give us Threads-O-Flava some more.
The new forum has a different address than the old one, so update your bookmarks. The link on the right side of the page here is current, so you can always get to the forums from here. Or just remember that we have a N ew F orum....
You'll have to re-register and then we'll set up permissions so everyone gets appropriate access to all the forums. Be patient, young padawan.
